Alcohol en/of illegale drugs als oorzakelijke factor voor evaluatie op spoedgevallendienst.

Misbruik van alcohol en illegale drugs zijn grote gezondheidszorgproblemen die regelmatig leiden tot opname op de spoedgevallendienst. Het doel van dit onderzoek is om voor de regio’s Gent en Sint-Niklaas vast te stellen:

  • hoe vaak alcohol- en drugmisbruik bijdraagt aan spoedopnames (op permanente basis, maar ook tijdens specifieke gelegenheden zoals een techno-event of de kampioenviering van voetbalclub AA Gent);
  • wat de belangrijkste klinische kenmerken zijn van deze patiënten;
  • hoe vaak deze patiënten werden verwezen naar aangepaste psychiatrische diensten.

Doelstelling

  • Kwantificatie van de omvang van het alcoholprobleem bij patiënten op een spoedgevallendienst (met vergelijking ten opzichte van illegale drugs);
  • Beschrijving van het spectrum van aanmeldingsklachten bij deze patiënten (inclusief subgroepen zoals jongeren, vrouwen en bejaarden);
  • Audit van verstrekte medische en psychiatrische hulp aan deze patiënten.
